You is Kollektief’s third single and probably their best so far. Everything comes together in this deep and emotional song. The organic broken beats are the perfect guide for this complex work where the soothing vocals find their way through a dystopian landscape of industrial sounds. With its compelling mood swings, the track manages to keep listeners on their toes and leave them begging for more.
The song was originally written for a catwalk show which premiered at the Amsterdam Fashion Week. To pay tribute to this, Kollektief worked the song back into its original shape while still maintaining the tension of the rework. The result is the Catwalk Origins version which halfs the tempo and adds some dramatic string action.
In January the next release will be an EP with several different vocalists so keep your eyes peeled for that.

It’s time for Kollektief’s second release: Can’t Take It
The first single, A Simple Truth, received worldwide acclaim. Now, they take it up a notch with yet another genre-defying belter.
Can’t Take It is one of those tunes that immediately invokes visions of a huge festival crowd going bonkers. The simplicity of the vocal matches the melody perfectly. And the classic trance synth propels you back into the nineties with a huge grin on your face! Only the drums and the bassline keep you firmly in the now.
And wait for the goosebumps in the spinetingling breakdown before we go mental again.
The Full Length provides more breathing room for all the elements to do their work even more effectively.
Stay tuned for new tracks by Kollektief in the coming months. You, the next single by Kollektief will follow shortly!
Meet Kollektief, the Dutch word for “collective”. This brand-new formation consists of several producers, musicians, vocalists and visual artists. But at the core there’s always producer Remko Verweij and singer Nikkie Kemp and together they treat you to a steaming blend of raw electronics with urban pop sensibilities.
“A Simple Truth” is their first single and it is a fine example of hip-hop meets pop music. The bobbing bassline is what drives this sweet song and it is layered with loads of synth hooks to give it that proper epic feeling. But the vocal is where the magic happens. It really gives you this wonderful sensation of togetherness!
On the “Full Length” they are joined by another core member, MC Stretch, who takes the track even further into urban territories.
The release is completed by the “Honest Dub” which leaves pop grounds for more rugged terrain where distant vocal delays accentuate the fat and repetitive synth hook.
Stay tuned for new tracks by Kollektief in the coming months. “Can’t Take It”, the next single by Kollektief will be released in December 2019!
